Faces of Africa
Created by Madison Skoblo, Paul Gassner and Zara Akhbari
We all joined the Global Ambassadors in Moscow close to the beginning of our time in high school. The dedication of our upperclassmen inspired us to contribute our time and efforts to the Global Ambassadors Club. Our efforts were ultimately topped by the opportunity of travelling to Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe on the Service Learning Trip. This trip allowed us to witness our projects come to fruition; this was especially exciting because it is those specific projects that we fundraise, organise and advocate for throughout the entire school year. We were touched by the experiences we made and the personalities we met on this trip. In an attempt to expand the reach of the stories we witnessed and to educated our peers that charity is an essential ingredient in helping the less privileged achieve their goals and aspirations, we initiated our 'Faces of Africa' project. This project would consist of a blog on the Global Ambassadors website outlining fascinating stories of the people we met during our experiences Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
How does this work?
To read the stories that we have collected on our trip merely click on the images of the individuals. Below each picture, you can see their name and their age. Each click will take you to a separate page which outlines the individual's story. On each page, there is a button in the top left corner which takes you back to this page from where you can read an additional story. Furthermore, you may hover over the "Faces of Africa" option in the menu bar; there you will have other links that take you to all stories. Enjoy!
